Teaching methods, which include learning activities and materials, are generally the area where there is the greatest potential for conflict between teacher and students.

In a traditional curriculum this conflict would be ignored on the grounds that the “teacher knows best”.

In a student-centred curriculum it is imperative that conflicts be resolved by specific techniques and procedures for negotiation and consultation.
