- to guarantee the quality of FLT in compliance with European standards
- to support the activities of OPTIMA'S school members aimed at providing high quality language services
- to defend the interests of its members in their relations with public and private institutions in the country and abroad

PRIMA – Croatia
- promoting high professional standards in language teaching both among language schools in Croatia and among the public
- running an accreditation scheme based on regular inspections
- providing a professional exchange forum for language school managers in Croatia
- providing information to customers on services in accredited schools
NYESZE – Association of Language Schools – Hungary
- maintaining and raising the standards of language teaching in private language schools
- running an accreditation scheme based on regular external inspections
- providing clear and transparent information to customers about services in the member schools
- representing and protecting the interests or member schools at government and parliamentary level
- providing professional advice to decision makers
PASE – Polish Association for Standards in English – Poland
- promoting high professional standards in ELT both among EFL schools in Poland and among the public
- running an accreditation scheme based on regular inspections
- providing a professional exchange forum for ELT managers in Poland (through e.g. organising ELT Management conferences)
- providing information to customers on services in accredited schools
QUEST – Romania
- to support Romania's European and international integration process, through specific means
- to promote the teaching of modern languages and ensure the quality of the process in accordance with the highest standards possible
- to support the activity of the Language Centres - both full and observer members - with a view to permanently improve the quality of the language services offered.
YALS – Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
- to promote, protect, control and improve the quality of language services in private language schools in FR of Yugoslavia
- to run an accreditation scheme based on regular external inspections
- to provide clear and transparent information to customers about services in the member schools
- to represent and protect the interest of member schools at government
