The documentation and resource centre specialises in the methodology of language education (language didactics). The collection includes resources connected to ECML activities, reference works published by the Language Policy Division of the Council of Europe and the John Trim collection, a unique collection which includes material covering 35 years of the Council of Europe's work in the field of modern languages.

The DRC is a reference library and its documentary resources can be consulted at the Centre. It offers an information and documentation service, undertakes bibliographical research and disseminates the results of ECML projects.
